Every time they update it, I'll put the new posts in here.
They've posted up to Day 7.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DAY ONE
Today was a short day to set up the drums, get sounds and then play all the guide tracks in ( vocal and guitar ) so that Murray can record the drums tomorrow.
Sadly the preamps didn't arrive today but we should have them tomorrow and then the drums can start to come to life.
13 guide tracks completed and time to call it a day.

DAY TWO
The rack of 8 1064 Neve preamps arrived at 2pm today, so it was time get the gains right on the drums.
The EQ on the neve's really make a difference to the sound and some minor adjustments to levels due to the high gain of the preamps needed to be made.

Time to record tomorrow!!
DAY THREE
Drums are finished for 10 songs with only 3 to go including the special secret track on the album.
No real issues so far. Calling today at 6:45pm so we can head down to Manly for a show tonight.
DAY FOUR
Murray has now completed all the drums for the album.
'Over Without You' is played with brushes, so the EQ's had to be adjusted a little.
Only a short day today due to last nights late show. We should be able to knock over most of the Bass tomorrow using the Neve's.
We plan to hire an Avalon for Bass and vocals. We'll use one of the Neumann U87's for vocals and hopefully that combination will sound sweet.
DAY FIVE
Today started BASS today using the Avalon di into protools.
DAY SIX
After about 15 hours of takes and retakes - no wait - multiple retakes, bass is laid over top of the drums.
An asortment of old and new Fender Jazz basses and an active Yamaha 5 string bass were used to create different bass sounds and feels.
The bass was also played directly into the avalon, without the use of the bass amplifier and pedals.
Bass effects will added later in the process, but for now, they are ready to have guitars laid over top.
DAY SEVEN
Spent all day today putting down the solid guitar parts to each song. I ended up using the Tube Screamer into the Mesa on Clean for most of the songs and once it is doubled it sounds pretty huge!!
Next step is to do all the clean guitar parts and solos. Should be able to knock that over in a day and then it is onto the vocals
DAY EIGHT
Today was a little more interesting. We finished all the guitars on 5 songs and doing all the solos and extra bits. We used a 57 on the cab running through the Avalon today as the neve's have now gone back to Melbourne. Sounds pretty good though!
We're taking this weekend off while we do shows and will get back into it on Monday. Hopefully one more day should see all the guitar parts finished.
